Ling is an IET Fellow and an IEEE Senior Member. He serves in various IEEE technical committees. He is/was the associate editors of 11 international journals and organizd 5 special issues in various journals. He served asgeneral chairs, technical program chairs and various important positions in 13 international conferences (5 IEEE conferences). He organized 15 special sessionsin various conferences (14 IEEE conferences).
